She was born in 1948 in Yuendumu and arrived in Lajamanu at 10 years of age. Napanangka enjoys painting as it is a social activity in Lajamanu. Her experiences of travelling through the desert and life in Lajamanu coupled with knowledge of culture is now shown in defining colours and styles. Kitty uses a mixture of line work, coming from body art and ceremony, and intricate dot work.  As well as this Kitty works in bright large merges of colour.  This style represents yawulyu (women’s ritual design or art) tradition of Warlpiri women.
